Story-

A young permissive and handsome man, profession singer, as soon as enters into a brothel burg becomes friends with a prostitute lady and falls in love with a girl at first glance who was wondering to see her boyfriend on the spot where his lover told her to come and to see her.

Movie review

Sanjay Leela Bhansali the director of the movie adopted this story from the Fyodor Dostoevsky’s short story 'White Story Nights'. The movie Saawariya is narrated by Gulabji a courtesan lady from the movie. Raj ( Ranbir Kapoor) wander in a mystical town and meets Gulabji who directs him a local boarding house and becomes Friend with her. Wandering at night in the town Raj sees a wondrous Muslim girl Sakina(Sonam Kapoor), seduced by her beauty and naivety, Raj falls for her at first sight but Sakina refuses him and instead befriends him so far as she was in love with a guy named Imaan. Sakina waits for Imaan to come and meet her as he left her promising to meet her afterward.

 During the halfway of the film story might be seem monotonous and unexciting for some people who are impatient or want intense drama and audience can not be appertained by the movie. Talking about the set it was enchanting and splendid.

The visuals of the set seize audiences into the movie. The cinematography of the film is so colorful, dark and it is very demulcent to see. The cinematic arts seem unrealistic and extramundane. The casts of the movie were also very beautifully portrayed, dressed, ornamental and the selection of the cast by the director was fitted to the characters but somewhere Sonam Kapoor's acting was a little bit slobby that her character seems kind of eccentric because her act was unsteady. I didn’t feel concatenate with the character Sakina that much but with the cinematography. The last scene of the movie was the only part where I got sentimental and that touched my heart to the core. Saawariya was an ingenious love story movie free from suspense and horripilation.
